Launching "A Future Within Reach"

Dear HBAR Members:

The Board of Directors is excited to announce the launch of A Future Within Reach, a regional campaign focused on one of the most important issues facing our region: ensuring that housing remains attainable for the people who live and work here. Building on the foundation of our original Yes to Homes campaign, A Future Within Reach expands and strengthens our message to engage a broader audience in the regional conversation about housing attainability.

Housing is more than a place to live. It is essential economic infrastructure. The availability and affordability of housing directly affect our workforce, our employers’ ability to attract and retain talent, and our region’s long-term economic competitiveness.

Developing solutions to our housing challenges requires a regional conversation and a collaborative approach. That is why HBAR is working alongside our coalition partners — the Richmond Association of REALTORS® (RAR), Chamber RVA, Greater Richmond Association for Commercial Real Estate (GRACRE), and Associated General Contractors (AGC) — to elevate the importance of housing availability and affordability throughout our region.

Through A Future Within Reach, we aim to educate residents and community leaders, encourage thoughtful conversations about housing policy, and demonstrate why expanding housing opportunities is essential to a thriving regional economy.
