Trade Council Market Update

The Trade Council met to discuss current market conditions and external factors affecting the industry.

Despite challenges posed by weather, trades reported a strong performance in Q1 2025.

Discussions highlighted ongoing concerns around tariffs, with members agreeing that collaboration between local trades and builders is imperative. Emphasis was placed on the significance of high-quality service, on-time delivery, and solid relationships for enduring success.

In March, the Trade Council hosted a Builder+Trade Party, with 200+ in attendance, featuring a bull riding competition that raised $2,600 toward BuildPAC—HBAR’s political action committee that supports pro-housing candidates for elected office throughout Chesterfield, Henrico, Hanover, Goochland, and New Kent counties, as well as Virginia’s House and Senate.
